Sea Spice is a vibrant new restaurant for Aldeburgh, combining coastal Suffolk produce with exotic Indian cooking and local craft beer. Head Chef Pratap Singh Rawat makes the very best of Aldeburgh’s fantastic location for daily caught fish and local organic producers. Honouring the breadth and complexities of Indian cooking, Sea Spice offers an array of regional dishes, from Goan inspired sea-food dishes, to tandoor grilled meats and traditional fragrant curries.
Feast on freshly caught Aldeburgh lobster dressed in a fragrant Masala gravy or savour the organic Sutton Hoo chicken, layered with aromatic spices and a clean cucumber raita in our Dum biryani. East Suffolk Muntjac vindaloo is another dish that has proved irresistible for many guests. The puddings are enticing too, such as Masala Creme Brûlée and or lovely milk dessert Gulab Jamun, with all their delicate tastes and flavours providing just the kind of finish you long for after an exotic meal.
Children are looked after too with Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer Butter Masala dishes prepared especially for them. And, just in case, fish and chips are on the menu too.
Make sure you come early and head up the stairs into the gorgeous bar for a drink to kick off your evening in great style. In celebration of the burgeoning craft-beer scene, we are working with a number of specialist breweries including Adnams from the award-winning Meantime brewery, to offer an edited menu of craft beers and ales. We also offer Bavarian Weissbier for those wanting something from further afield as well as some specialist beers from California and Japan. All ales and lagers have been chosen specifically to complement the contemporary menu at Sea Spice. It’s not just about beer of course. Champagne cocktails feature too as well as other classics, twisted for hotter days, such as the Ginger & Mint Cooler made with Fisher’s London Dry Gin.
Classic Indian flavours, originating over 4,000 miles away, are close by in Aldeburgh.
