The Festival fringe which takes place over the following two weeks in the surrounding areas, from Saturday 27th September until Sunday 12th October, is designed to support the local economy and help people make the connection between local food and the people, animals and landscape that produced it. From farm walks and special dinners to foodie family fun and workshops.

The Woodbridge Shuck Shellfish Festival

The Woodbridge Shuck shellfish festival brings local chefs, artisan seafood producers and lovers of good food together to celebrate the shellfish harvested locally on the river Deben and the East Anglian region as a whole.

The festival is organised by The Tide Mill Living Museum, The Crown At Woodbridge and Simpers of Suffolk.

FRIDAY 3rd AND SATURDAY 4th October
FROM 7PM
Dine at The Shuck Shack
This year Bespoke Events will take over the Tide Mill, turning it in to a fun shabby-chic diner serving a delicious set 5-course menu of East Anglian seafood, priced at £35. Booking and pre-payment is essential.

SATURDAY 4TH
All day
Visit the participating businesses around Woodbridge, where everyone will be getting in to the 'Shuck' spirit - you'll discover lots of shellfish specials and fab 'Shuck' events. Let the foodie fiesta continue...

SUNDAY 5TH
The Quay is the place to be for an afternoon of feasting from 12noon. Throughout the afternoon the Quay will be 'shell-packed' with local seafood producers tasting stalls, cookery demonstrations, hot and cold seafood to buy, sea shanties, historical talks, music, crabbing competitions, children's craft activities and much, much more...

SONGS OF PRAISE BY THE DEBAN
3pm
Led by Churches Together in Woodbridge and Melton and the Fisherman's Mission, join us by the Quay for thanksgiving, worship and prayer with lots of lively singing and live music.

SEAFOOD SAFARI SUPPER
7pm
Join us for drinks and canapés at the Adnams Cellar & Kitchen store from 7pm, followed by a meal with a difference! Each course of the evening’s meal will be served at one of these 3 fine restaurants - The Galley, The King's head and The Angel.
This experience is just £40 per person, which includes the drinks reception, all 3 courses with an accompanying small glass of wine especially selected to compliment the dish.

Spend the morning with Head Chef James Barber and walk in his foot steps as he takes you on a tour of the foodie destinations in Aldeburgh

Join James and fellow foodies at 9.00am for coffee and pastries in the stunning sea-view private dining room at The Brudenell.

James will then take you on a walking tour round Aldeburgh stopping off at the local fisherman's hut to collect fresh fish and introduce you to Dean, who will give a talk and demo. Then onto AM: The Aldeburgh Market for local vegetables and fruit and back to the Brudenell for a live cooking demonstration including:

How to cook fresh fish en papillote
How to make the perfect Bakewell tart with local blackberries and real custard

Afterwards sit down to a two course lunch
