Bark Bar raises funds for RSPCA

The Brudenell boasts breathtaking views, a gorgeous terrace overlooking the beach, a fantastic gin selection, and a wonderful seafood inspired menu, making it a popular location for locals and visitors alike; it’s also a popular stop for canine friends.

The terrace, whilst being an ideal place to dine alfresco and sip on gorgeous gins, refreshing wines and delicious cocktails; is also host to the Bark Bar, where pooches visiting the hotel, or just passing by, can stop for a dog treat and a bowl of water.

The Bark Bar, which the dog-friendly hotel staff set up last year, proved so popular last summer, that when the terrace opened again in spring this year, there was no question over whether it would return, this time to help support dogs and other animals.

Leanne Whyte, Brudenell Front of House Manager, decided to ask for donations to the RSPCA in return for using the bark bar. She said: “Owners and pets alike absolutely love the Bark Bar and our staff love to make a fuss of the dogs when they stop by.

“With the Bark Bar being so popular, we thought it would be a nice idea to ask for donations to the RSPCA Suffolk east and Ipswich branch with the money going towards rehoming animals. Our generous visitors have already filled up the donation pot once after only a month, raising nearly £60 already for the charity, so by the end of the summer we expect to have raised a few hundred pounds!”

The Brudenell Hotel is located at the end of the high street near the Martello Tower. Food and drinks are served all day every day and the Bar Bar is open to all pooches.

Dogs are also very welcome to stay in the hotel for an additional £10 a night. Book your stay here
