Brudenell welcomes BHF fundraiser, Kieran

February 15, 2017

Staff at the Brudenell were delighted to welcome Kieran Sandwell, who is walking 5,000 miles around the UK coast in aid of British Heart Foundation to the hotel today.

Kieran Sandwell is walking 5,000 miles anti-clockwise around the UK coast aiming to raise £100,000 (£20 per mile) for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in 326 days. He underwent a successful heart transplant operation seven years ago at the age of 38 having suffered from congenital heart disease since birth.

He set off from the BHF London offices on 1st February and arrived in  Aldeburgh on Wednesday 15th February, for a well-deserved night’s stay at the Brudenell. He is walking an average of 12-15 miles per day unsupported, and carrying his own kit on his back.

With his new heart in place, Kieran has walked, and then run marathons, completed a 100mile sponsored walk and a 10,000ft sky jump, whereas before even making a cup of tea and taking it back to the living room was a huge struggle.
